Oval Amazonite on Reticulated Silver Pendant

This 8 x 10mm Amazonite gemstone has been handset on a unique, reticulated silver square. The height and width of the pendant is 1.8cm. It hangs from a 18 inch snake chain.

About Reticulated Silver - Reticulation is a controlled surface-melting process which produces an organic, wrinkled, textured, fine silver 'crust' on top of the underlying sterling silver.  This is achieved by repeatedly heating and cleaning the silver (in acid).  This process depletes the copper present in the sterling silver, leaving behind a 'skin' of higher silver purity, with a melting point greater than the sterling silver below.
