Reticulated Silver Studs with Amazonite

Each earring is made from a reticulated silver square with sides of approx. 1cm, with a single 3mm Amazonite gemstone set onto it.  The surface patterns on the silver are unique and achieved by a process called reticulation (see below).   

About Reticulated Silver - Reticulation is a controlled surface-melting process which produces an organic, wrinkled, textured, fine silver 'crust' on top of the underlying sterling silver.  This is achieved by repeatedly heating and cleaning the silver (in acid).  This process depletes the copper present in the sterling silver, leaving behind a 'skin' of higher silver purity, with a melting point greater than the sterling silver below.
